Endodontic retreatment
Sometimes previous root canal treatment has not achieved the desired results. The tooth can usually still be preserved by retreating the root.
Under the microscope we can often see that individual root canals have been overlooked in the previous treatment, so that inflammation could develop again (Figure 1).
In the case of an endodontic retreatment, the old filling material is removed. Then all canals are completely cleaned and filled with a sealing material (Figure 2).
It may be necessary to remove an existing crown or bridge before treatment. Afterwards it will be rebuilt (Figures 3 and 4).
This treatment is also painless under local anesthesia and the inflammation usually heals quickly.
We would be happy to inform you personally, your practice for root canal treatment.
